Resident Evil Netflix Series Announced July

Resident Evil Netflix Series Arriving in July

The release date for the upcoming Resident Evil Netflix series has been revealed as July 14, as revealed by the Twitter account for Netflix Geeked. The accompanying poster features a rather plain but boldly yellow background with a vial whose label reveals that the blood inside is marked positive for the franchise’s familiar T-virus.

What the Resident Evil Netflix series will be about

Originally announced two years ago in August, the Resident Evil Netflix series will be a live-action adaptation produced by the German production company Constantin Film. That’s the same company behind the movie reboot Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City.

According to a prior tweet that highlights the front page of the series script, the program will focus on the Wesker kids, a pair of 14-year-old sisters Jade and Billie Wesker, as they move to New Raccoon City. As you might suspect, the corporate town has more than a few secrets that the villain and father, Albert Wesker, are attempting to hide.

A second timeline will skip forward about 16 years later when Jade Wesker has to face a post-apocalyptic future. Fewer than 15 million people remain as the T-virus infection spreads among people and animals, creating more than 6 billion monsters. It’s unclear whether her sister or her father survives.

The eight-episode series will be directed by Bronwen Hughes (The Journey Is the Destination, The Walking Dead) and overseen by Andrew Dabb (Supernatural) as both a lead writer and showrunner.

With any luck, this Resident Evil Netflix series will have the same success as The Witcher series also on Netflix which stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia. Netflix previously released the animated project Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness in July 2021.

In other news, a free trial for Diablo 2 Resurrected is now available on Xbox, and Inscryption is receiving a free update today that includes an endless mode.
