Just six months after it hit store shelves, a new Coca-Cola flavor is being discontinued.

The company introducedCoca-Cola Spiced -- also known as Coke Spice -- in February, only to discontinue the bubbly beverage. It was the first time the company launched a new flavor permanently in more than three years.

According to CNN, the soda company said it is “always looking at what our customers like and adjusting” its flavors. It also promised a new flavor next year.

“As part of this strategy, we’re planning to phase out Coca-Cola Spiced to introduce an exciting new flavor in 2025,” a spokesperson told the media outlet on Tuesday.

Coca-Cola previously marketed the flavor in hopes of attracting younger soda drinkers. The flavor offered the company's iconic cola infused withraspberry and spiced flavors.

At the time, Coca-Cola promoted it as a permanent flavor, with Emmy Award-winning actress Storm Reid, 21, helping to advertise the beverage on social media.

"It’s CocaCola, only spiced. CocaCola Spiced transforms the familiar into the extraordinary," the company noted on its website. "Blending the iconic taste of CocaCola with a burst of refreshing notes from raspberry and spiced flavors, CocaCola Spiced offers an uplifting taste experience."

CNN noted there was "confusion about the flavor," noting that "it wasn’t actually spicy."
