Delta flight clips another plane on taxiway at Atlanta airport

Airport officials said no injuries were reported during an incident involving two planes on a taxiway at Atlanta's airport Tuesday morning.

The incident atHartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport happened around 10:07 a.m. at the intersection of taxiways E and H, according to an airport spokesperson.

Delta Air Lines officials explained that the wing of an aircraft made contact with a smaller aircraft's tail that was on a nearby taxiway.

Both flights, Delta Air Lines Flight 295 and5526, had customers on board during the incident.

The 221 customers on the Delta Air Lines Flight 295 were headed toTokyo while 56 travelers on flight 5526 were on their way toLaFayette, Louisiana.

The collision left Endeavor Air's tail and the Airbus A350's wing damaged.

Delta Air Lines told The National Desk that customers were transported back to the terminal where they will be re-accommodated on alternate flights.

"There is minimal impact to airport operations," an airport spokesperson said in a statement.

At this time, the airline stated it was cooperating with the National Transportation Safety Board and other authorities.
