A 30-year-old woman from Hawaii allegedly vanished after she missed her connecting flight at an airport in California, according to her loved ones.

In a series of social media posts, Hannah Kobayashi's family said they are worried about her safety and fear she was kidnapped.

"Hannah’s last message to us was alarming," she mentioned feeling scared, and that someone might be trying to steal her money and identity," Kobayashi's aunt, who NBC News identified as Larie Pidgeon, said. The media outlet noted Pidgeon goes by Larie Ingrum on Facebook.
"She hasn’t been heard from since, and we are gravely concerned for her safety," the relative wrote.

Another post noted Kobayashi was at Los Angeles International Airport, or LAX on her way to visit family in New York City on Nov. 8. But, she missed the connecting flight, according to the post.

While she had been communicating with family via text, her messages stopped a few days later, the family said.

Kobayashi's loved ones said they contacted Los Angeles police, but urged the public to be on the lookout for her. They said she lives in Maui, is 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighs 140 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes, as well as fair skin with freckles.

"Time is of the essence, and we’re hoping your voices could help amplify this message across the Los Angeles area to increase visibility and bring Hannah back to Maui safely," the post noted.

Kobayashi's family filed a missing persons report as they continue their search for her. Her father, Ryan, is among those hoping to find her unharmed.

"Everything is just a blur it seems, because I haven’t slept well since I’ve heard the news, and I really don’t know it’s just really concerning,” he told KHNL.

Anyone who has information about Kobayashi or her whereabouts was asked to call Los Angeles police at 1-877-527-3247 orThe Rad Movement at 619-904-0840.
