Body found at Sun Valley fire scene, investigation ongoing

SUN VALLEY, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — An investigation is underway after a body was discovered at the scene of a fire in Sun Valley on Wednesday morning. 2nd Ave in Sun Valley is closed between Oetting Lane and Leon Drive for the investigation.

Dispatch received a call of a structure fire on the 400 block of E Second Ave just after 9 a.m. on Nov. 6. Truckee Meadows Fire responded to the call along with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO).

As first responders were en route, they learned that a person might be inside.

After the blaze was suppressed, fire crews located a body. WCSO detectives are investigating and authorities say there is no additional threat to the public.

The identity of the deceased has not been released.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
