No one hurt after garbage truck erupts in flames in Washoe Valley

A Waste Management truck on fire sent a large plume of smoke across Washoe Valley early Wednesday afternoon.

According to Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, the fully engulfed garage truck caught fire in the area of Steptoe Lane and U.S. 395 alternate just before 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 18.

No one was hurt in the fire and it did not spread to nearby land.
