Local, Federal and State Leaders held a community meeting at Depoali Middle School to provide updates on the on-going efforts to fight the Davis Fire.
The fire is spread across three jurisdictions, including Truckee Meadows, the Forest Service and The Bureau of Land Management.
The meeting started with words of optimism from Nevada Governor, Joe Lombardo, who toured the Mt. Rose and Slide Mountain areas of the fire Friday morning.
"The sun is shining, and the rainbows are out a little bit more than they were during the last meeting."
Governor Lombardo also shared gratitude for the crews and partnerships that been increasing fire containment levels.
"My heart goes out to them... my applaud goes out to them and their efforts associated with everything they do."
The Davis Fire now sits at 76% containment, burning 5,824 acres.
As of Friday morning, residents in the Montreux area were able to return home.
Truckee Meadows Fire Chief, Charles Moore, said that there is a 90% chance that residents in the Galena and Saint James areas can return home by Saturday, but that message came with caution.
"Because of Murphy's law, there are still some things that could go possibly wrong, so I'm going to make this plea to you: please don't line up on the highway at eight o'clock (A.M.), because I don't know if it's going to be eight o'clock or Noon, or in the afternoon... but we're working very very hard to get you back home tomorrow."
Community members voiced questions to NV Energy about power restoration.
According to NV Energy Vice President, Jesse Murray, the company has crews in place actively working to replace destroyed equipment.
As of Friday, there are only 805 customers in the fire zone without power, with 441 customers in Montreux having power restored.
