Sierra snowpack jumps to 98% after massive storm

A much-needed snowstorm significantly increased Sierra snowpack.

Meteorologists with the National Weather Service said over seven days the snowpack jumped from 19% to 98%.
Scientists say snow in the central Sierra is 102% of normal for this date as of December 17. It was 22% as of December 10.
The next Sierra storm starts to building Tuesday and Wednesday with travel impacts expected for the Christmas weekend.
