Sophie Lincoln joined the KRNV news team as a multimedia journalist in December 2023 after spending a year and a half at our sister station in Redding, California. She graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism, along with a minor in Italian Studies.
During her time at Cal Poly, Sophie participated in Mustang News TV (MNTV), Cal Poly’s broadcast news team, where she was able to gain on-air experience along with behind-the-scenes production experience. She was also involved in Cal Poly’s FM radio station KCPR, where she worked as the News Director and anchor.
She also wrote for the print newspaper, Mustang News, and she worked for the university as a Communications Assistant writing web articles for the university. Outside of Cal Poly, Sophie completed various internships including one at KCBX, the NPR member station in San Luis Obispo, where she reported on the environment.
Sophie’s environmental reporting wasn’t limited to her internship at KCBX. As an enthusiast of nature and animals, the environment is an important topic to Sophie, which is why she took on numerous environmental stories in her various positions across different media.
Sophie is originally from the Bay Area. When she isn’t working, Sophie loves hiking, going to the beach, and she absolutely adores dogs.
