Wind advisory in effect across parts of northern Nevada through Tuesday evening

RENO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — The National Weather Service has issued a winter advisory for parts of northern Nevada through Tuesday evening.

The wind advisory impacts the greater Reno-Sparks, Carson City, Minden, Fallon, Virginia City, Fernley, Lovelock and Pyramid Lake areas.

West winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph are expected through 7 p.m. on February 21.

Wind-prone areas like the US-395 corridor could see gusts upwards of 65 mph.

Blowing dust may lead to areas of low visibility along I-80, Highway 50 and US-95 primarily east of Reno and Carson City.
