The Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the woman who died in a residential fire near Dickton Circle in Sun Valley as Carol L. Davidson, 69, of Sun Valley. Davidson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause and manner of her death are pending further investigation and laboratory testing, according to officials. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is leading the law enforcement investigation into the incident.

Authorities discovered Davidson's body after responding to a structure fire on the 400 block of E Second Ave. Dispatch received the call just after 9 a.m. on Nov. 6. Truckee Meadows Fire and the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.

As first responders were en route, they were informed that a person might be inside the burning structure. After the fire was extinguished, crews located Davidson's body.
